2018 is an important election year. This fall we will be electing people to key constitutional offices starting with Governor and state representatives and senators. Democratic candidates for the constitutional offices must receive the support of 15% of the delegates at the state party convention on June 1 and 2 in order to appear on the Sept. 4 primary ballot. Those delegates and alternates are elected at caucuses in every town or city ward across the state.
Groton Democrats will caucus on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at 3 p.m. at Town Hall (173 Main Street, Groton, MA) to elect 5 delegates and 4 alternates. Any registered or pre-registered Groton Democrat may participate by running as a delegate or voting for delegates. Anyone who will be 18 by September 18, 2018 may pre-register to vote and anyone who registers as a Democrat prior to the start of the caucus can fully participate in our caucus.
Youth (people under 35), minorities, people with disabilities, and LGBTQ+ individuals not elected as delegates may apply to become add-on delegate through the state party at www.massdems.org .
